    Hello I am experiencing the same problem. I know the most recent post in this thread is from 2017 but I would like to play LOTRO, I downloaded ~20gigs of data and now the launcher is crashing on me. It gets to "getting in line to connect" and then the launcher crashes and no further actions occur because of the LOTRO launcher executable.Now the launcher will open up, spend an hour updaing, but it won't run the game. blank, nothing happens after I select a server and click play. I'm going to uninstall LotRO and reinstall see if that's any help but wow, I haven't had such a hard time getting a game to run since the early days of Win XP.

    Oct 07, 2017 · I had the same issue with LoTRO after DDO would not sign in, tried to log into that and was stuck on installing pre-req's, deleted userpreference file in my LoTRO folder and it went on to what seemed like download the whole game. Got sick of waiting and just stopped that after 2+ hours of waiting. Now the launcher will open up, spend an hour updaing, but it won't run the game. blank, nothing happens after I select a server and click play. I'm going to uninstall LotRO and reinstall see if that's any help but wow, I haven't had such a hard time getting a game to run since the early days of Win XP.

The reason is because setup uses those same dependencies so i might just as well use official launcher.
