Nov 09, 2013 · Yes, 30 ft-lbs on the oil sump drain plug. Toyota says new oil sump drain plug gasket at every oil change, but that isn't necessary in my experience. If the gasket isn't shredding or overly squashed, you can re-use it several times. The new oil filter comes with new O-rings for the filter canister and the canister drain plug.

Use common sense and you should be fine. Using the small funnel, begin replacing the fluid. I let each bottle drain for a couple of minutes. So, I think I may go buy a torque wrench and back the oil drain plug out just before it starts to leak and re-tighten using a torque wrench. Do you think this is good idea or just leave it. I am pretty sure I over tightened it and wont be changing again until October, so should or should I not back it out and use a torque wrench.
